Liver question

I am a new arrival to this group. After 10 years of treating my husband for Parkinson's, now a leading doctor tells us his diagnosis is Atypical, or Dementia that presents itself as Parkinson's. No one can confirm if the symptoms have been caused by the meds or if it is a progression of the disease. Recently I have been giving him chocolate with CBD and /or an oil supplement with the same. He is eating (and enjoying) his dark chocolate, at about 20-30 mg 3 times daily. I have noticed he needs drastically fewer meds to get the same relief. My question is this: Has anyone had liver issues when taking both Sinemet and CBD oil? Read that CBD inhibits a certain enzyme which is needed to clear the prescribed drugs out of the system. Regular tests seem to indicate his liver is "normal", but the alternative doctors have been alarmed in the past, picking up trouble in his pulse.

I eat 3 squares of chocolate dipped in coconut oil a day and it helps my symptoms a little. I tried CBD oil a couple of times and it seemed to make my tremors a little worse. My doctor does blood tests every year & she's never mentioned problems with my liver.

Do you take Sinemet or other forms of prescribed Levadopa-carbadopa?

Yes. I've taken Parcopa, which dissolves on the tongue type of C/L, for approximately 10 yrs.

My liver was affected by an antibiotic about 35 yrs ago. The whites of my eyes turned yellow and part of my skin, and the doctor told me usually the liver regenerates itself.

Hi - what do the alternative doctors you mention specialise in?

Ayurveda. Was told that by the time the liver tests show something, it’s hard to fix.

The liver is very good at regeneration, so if the normal tests are fine I’d rest easy if I were you.

Thanks! Does it regenerate according to its original DNA?
