If a person develops dyskinesia from sinemet on a low dose for a short time if they stop the med will the dyskinesia go away

Yes, that's what the literature says, unless the dyskinesia is from something else.

Yes. Dyskinesia only happens when there is l dopa in the body. Once your body is clear of l dopa you dont have the dyskinesia. If you take it again you will have dyskenesia for the time it is in your body.

Dyskinesia is caused by too much lelevodopa in the substantia nigra. Therefore taking less levodopa should take away the dyskinesia.

May I ask you; did you find that when you first took the levodopa medication that some of your symptoms improved, if only temporarily?

If not. I would suggest that you don't need to take the levodopa as it is only designed to hide some of your symptoms and if it did not do that then it won't be doing you any good and you should stop taking it. You should start doing some exercise instead and fast walking is the best.

John I tried fast walking today. Not very far about 2kms.İ loved it!! I always used to be a fast walker and I felt like I was back in my element☺

Do y you have tremors? Don't they interfere with your walking?

My tremor is mild to non existent on medication

Hi SFLR. I would advise you not to do too much too soon. If you are walking as FAST AS YOU CAN you will be putting a lot of stress on your muscles. That is why I urge you to only walk every second day. Add an additional five minutes every second week. In that way you will get to the goal time of one hour every second day.

I was ok had. Bad off time so upped my meds and started with mild dyskinesia so I would say yes probably

99% of the time dyskinesia is induced by levodopa, just like Hikoi is right 99% of the time.

Tardive dyskinesia is caused by antipsychotic drugs - leaving open the possibility Rosabellazita is also taking antipsychotics
