husband has been on sinimet 20 years, has no pd symptoms except feet won't move, sinimet has made him violent after several doses of sinimet. I took him somewhere they said he has neuropathy in legs. he falls constantly. he believes sinimet helps him walk. I don't know how much I can take when he gets violent.

The answer is, NONE. You shouldn't have to take any violent abuse. Talk to his neuro and let him/her know exactly what's been happening, and that you need a solution.

I agree both violence and abuse in any form is unacceptable. That said I want to know the details of this situation before blaming the Sinemet. What was he like before PD? In any case, is the Sinemet merely making him functional allowing violent impulses to be expressed?

I agree. The frequency of reports attributing violence to Sinemet is almost nonexistent. just because the Sinemet helps, does not mean he is Parkinson's.

Go to your Neurologist and get them to assess your husbands medical treatment. You should not be putting up with any violent behaviour I really hope that you have been getting support while all this going on.

Look after yourself and hope you find the help you obviously need

God Bless you both.

perhaps, try a different Dr. A neurologist specializing in Parkinson's or a motion disorder specialist would be a good place to start.

We went to another in Indianapolis he was connected to local Dr. So after dat scan it showed possible pk or some form. He also has neuropathy in legs with severe pain, burning legs are 85 % dead.I think that’s his problem but Medicare don’t want to pay for any new Dr.,so I don’t know howto try to get help with neuropathy and pk to.

Hi Gaily 78 , sorry to hear of your problems but having neuropathy in my lower legs which makes it difficult to walk but easy to stumble and fall, I also have only been treated with Sinemet for my PD, my neuro seems to view my neuropathy as a separate problem out of his control. I have never experienced violent outburst thru Sinemet. So your husband is possibly wrong in blaming his medication.
