since my diagnosis of chronic pancreatitis I have been very overwhelmed and sad. I have breast cancer and was constipated for five years I think the severe diarrhea caused by linzess for severe constipation from the drug I took for the breast cancer may have caused CP. former drinker and smoker. I stopped sev.en years ago now this. How to stay positive and live with this challenging disease.

I feel this way at times too. It’s been 10 years since my diagnosis. It took over two years to get a diagnosis because no doctor believed my symptoms even though a cat scan revealed pancreas divisum. I take cymbalta for depression and Xanax for anxiety. Cymbalta is supposed to help with nerve pain. The Xanax is a Godsend because it keeps me calm when I’m in pain. Doctors are reluctant to prescribe it because it can be addictive. I disagree with this reluctance because for us with CP, it helps. I try to distract myself when I’m feeling depressed and overwhelmed. Also, I pray a lot. These feelings have decreased over the years because I’ve accepted that this is my life now. I listen to my body because I have no choice. Talk to your doctors about antidepressants and one of the benzodiazepines. Everyone is different. It’s worked for me. God bless you. Never give up!
