Just been to see Pancrearic surgeon. He looked at my ct scans etc he said they where all clear He said it could be the start of Chronic pancreatitis but thinjs it could be thickening of my dudeum as I have bilary gastritis. He has ordered an EUS my fecal elastane was 484 30th April ,30th May it was 23 (Was a slightly looser sample) and 2 weeks ago it was 424 .He asked if I'd tried Creon stated I had but developed Rashes and it didn't really help.Stomach is bloated got loads of wind, acid pain in back and shoulder sharp nerve pains in ribs.
Guess I will just have to wait the 4-6 weeks to find out.
Still worrying
Anyone had an EUS what's it like? Will I need to be sedated or just the spray.
Is my last fecal elastane OK?
Thanks

Is a EUS an endoscopic ultra sound? If so I had one years ago. I was sedated, so didn't know much about it. It is just like having a Gastroscopy maybe takes a bit longer to do.
Hi there. Personally I think it's best to be sedated for an EUS because the camera and tubes (what they're called I'm not sure!) that are attached are bigger than the ones used in a normal endoscopy procedure so quite a lot to handle if you're still awake. I woke up during mine and just relaxed myself and went back to sleep. It wasn't scary and I'm definitely not trying to frighten you but if that happens just remember you're in very safe hands with the people who carry out these procedures, relax and close your eyes. You will be okay. I hope the time passes quickly till you get it over with and get your results. Good luck.
Hi Paula, any update on you? I had an EUS and was sedated. Dr told me he could see scar tissue on my pancreas after the procedure but I had to wait for biopsy results for final findings. I have not had a fecal test done yet so I don't know much about that.
