Following a CT scan I have chronic calfic Pancreatitis, severe Pancreas insufficiently and as a bonus Diverticulor disease. I'm still in shock and waiting to hear from my GP as I have to take Creon, see a Dietician all before I see a Consultant. Also waiting for a Colonoscopy. As I already have one immune desease Rhuemtoid Arthritis, I'm waiting to have a blood test to establish or not is it's immune Pancreatitis. I'd be glad of anything to take the pain away. Any tips? No I'm not a drinker which is ironic.

Diagnosis
I'm so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Chronic pancreatitis is often caused as a result of an underlying condition, rather than alcohol. Unfortunately, that's become a common misconception. Depending on your test results, I may also suggest genetic testing to see if you have any genetic abnormalities that cause CP. We have a lot of available toolkits, webinars, and resources if you would like to check them out. Our website is mission-cure.org. Hang in there and know that we're here to support you! 💙
Jackie1947,
I understand these are not the kind of diagnoses that you wanted, but it is good to have a diagnosis. You now know what's going on. Now take a deep breath, it's going to take time to figure out what's what and learn what to do. It won't happen overnight, but even small improvements can help. Pain is a complex issue. In my own life, I have not found one big thing to relieve pain, but a bunch of little things that have led to some relief. Mission: Cure has helpful information about pain management. Some of the information I could try myself and some of the information I could use to discuss treatment options with my doctor. I am sorry that you are going through all this. This is a good group to share and ask questions.
