My husband has had persistent abdominal pain deep inside the abdomen for a long time now. It's on the left side. He does have GI issues but he has had many of these for years.
He has noticed some bowel changes though.
Wondering if the pain deep inside the abdomen on the left side could be pancreatic cancer? Especially with family history of it.

Try not to jump to a pancreatic cancer diagnosis. Get your husband to a doctor, have his blood enzymes checked (fecal elastase, amylase, lipase, and probably others) He can also have an ultrasound of his pancreas to see if it looks abnormal. If any of these tests are flagged as abnormal, there are more invasive tests that can be done to eliminate cancer. It may be that he needs digestive enzymes (pancreatic) or it may be, sorry to say this, irritable bowel which can manifest with this pain. I wonder if he has had his stomach checked out? It is hard to differentiate stomach pain from pancreas pain...with a family history, though, get him to a doctor! Best wishes.
HI, Definitely get him an appointment with his doctor and depending on his insurance I would ask for a referral to a pancreatic cancer specialist to get tested. Reason I recommend a specialist is since pancreatic cancer runs in his family his best bet would be to see specialist. And Also get a second opinion. G
unfortunately I’m going to agree with everyone else’s opinion. Hearing he has been suffering from stomach pains for some time, plus some changes in his bowel habits, I certainly wouldn’t wait!
Why wait if this is something that runs in your family, why have you allowed him to have pain and other symptoms that could be related.
