Oral problem, white spot on tongue! Mistaken oral thrush?

Has anyone ever had anything like this? I've been through 2 courses of Nystatin and no improvement. Docs unsure but have now given me tablets to try. Worried it's something sinister.

Sorry you are going through this, and hopefully get it sorted out, the first thing that came into my head is that you look dehydrated, make sure you are drinking lots of water, secondly, I am surprised that the doc didn't give you any 'Daktarin Oromucosal' gel for your tongue and thirdly, try natural yoghurts, Pataks Natural Yoghurts I would recommend, because of the Meds I am on, I get the same in my mouth so it does look like thrush, try these for a few days and if not working go back and speak to another GP.

It could be luekenplakia (spelling ?). It is from cells that are irregular. My mom was a smoker and was diagnosed with leukoplakia . About 10 years later she was diagnosed with lung cancer. Not saying you have cancer; but you might want to see an Ear Nose and Throat doctor to rule it out.
