Finally off Morphine

I have been on morphine for over 12 years but managed to finally get off it on the 12th of December 2023. It took me two years but at last no more morphine. My pain is only a little bit worse but all the other problems have gone.

There is hope.

Congratulations that’s really good and glad to hear you are coping well. What were you taking the morphine for pain wise if you don’t mind me asking?

Thank you

I was born with scoliosis and a condition called Klippel-Feil Syndrome. The bones in my neck are fused together which causes restricted movement and pain. I only take naproxen and paracetamol and use voltarol gel

Brilliant. Well done you. I know how hard it is and how good it is not to be taking it any more. You should be proud of yourself

Dear Lucycal

I am a forum moderator at Pain Concern and have just been reading your post.

Just to say well done for binning off the morphine.

I have been a prescription opioid addict in the past, so can appreciate just how difficult your journey will have been.

Best wishes
