HRT MEDICATION

Hi everyone,

I am on HRT Medication, which I have been on since I was 48 years old, for 8 years. I am supposed to have had a review every 3/6 months I haven't had one yet. Until I contacted my doctor last week and told her this. She couldn't believe it. I was supposed to have had my blood pressure taken to make sure that it didn't go up. Luckily it didn't. I have had 2 different HRT now and none of them have worked and to make matters worse it has halted my sex drive. I haven't been intimate with my husband for 8 years, I also told my doctor this. She told me that this could happen? She has now told me about a spray that I could use. She phoned me 3 days ago to get my blood pressure checked at a local chemist, my doctors don't do it. I had it done and the pharmacist posted the results to my doctor, she has had it for 3 days and she said as soon as she receives it she will post me a prescription, I had to phone to see where it was? the problem is I have no medication at all, she told me not to use the tablets anymore, she hasn't done it and because it is weekend I still can't get it. This is beyond ridiculous. I am just so glad that it wasn't heart medication. My question is has anyone else had a spray and does it actually work?

Thank you in advance

Hi, when i first started taking HRT it worked for a while, it stopped my hot flushes, mood swings etc, but I did lose my sex drive completely. I was on this for about 5 years and then I asked the doctor to change it because of my loss of sex drive. He did, but it still hasn't come back and my hot flushes came back, mood swings etc, luckily I have an understanding husband. When I had my last child at 28, I bled heavily and in the end I had to have a Hysterectomy at 30, because they couldn't stop the bleeding and different medications were not working. luckily I didn't want anymore children due to having 3 all with special needs. xx

You have an understanding husband. A kiss and cuddle can often work wonders to show you care.
