Petition on community link worker cuts

There are planned significant cuts to the community link worker (CLW) workforce in Glasgow from April 2024. Across Scotland, the funding for community link workers is short term, insecure and unstable, meaning this is not a local budgetary decision, but one rooted in national funding arrangements.

CLWs offer people help with housing, benefits, debt, food insecurity, fuel poverty, physical inactivity, loneliness, abuse and much more. The gap in healthy life expectancy between the richest and poorest in Scotland has never been wider. We believe cuts in CLW numbers during a cost-of-living crisis will only widen these health inequalities.

Would you be able to sign and onward share a petition that has been submitted to the Scottish Parliament:

“Stop the cuts to community link workers and help secure their long-term future within GP practice teams”

Thank you

Probably to cut costs from the ferry fiasco at the Clyde ship yards, talk about wasting millions of taxpayers money, and years behind schedule, let alone having to ship the LNG up from Kent, politicians should hang their heads in shame, as its money that's being cut from other budgets 🙄
