I have several spinal injuries, successive surgeries etc. blah blah blahDealing with chronic pain 24/7.

Recently had bood and iron transfused due to severe Anaemia. HG 72

They also did blood and urine tests and told me I had CKD Stage 3 which was a complete shock, and has left me scared and confused.

During a previous ultrasound scan where gallstones were found, they also noticed a problem with my left kidney. Unfortunately the were unable to get a clear scan of the right kidney or liver.

MySerum creatinine is 109 umol/l

GFR 45

AKI stage 0.

Could someone please let me know what these test results mean? And are there any other results on my blood test report that refer to the kidneys please?

Many, many thanks to everyone that has shared their story. It makes me feel less alone.

👌

You may receive an answer here but really you should discuss your results with your gp or consultant. We are not doctors or clinicians here but people who share knowledge about different pain conditions that we are experiencing. Am not sure anyone will be able to answer your specific questions…….

Don't be panic. Just consult Urologist and take proper treatment. My friend is also suffering from CKD and for the last one and half years his eGFR 15. He is on medication since then and maintaining the same with proper diet and medications. Your eGFR is 45, you can lead happy life with it with proper diet and medications. God bless you.

I agree with Bevvy that you should follow your GP's lead for now. You're obviously somewhat technical seeing as you posted on this platform. I have been through a lot of medical issues over the last 6 years with Vasculitis, CKD, Gallstones, hernias, prostate cancer, and chronic back pain. I have used the internet extensively to learn as much as I can about everything that I've had. One thing in particular is my lab work. You can request a copy of your labs from your doctor then research what each of the entries on the lab report means. You probably won't understand some of it. One part of the lab work is called CMP or Complete Metabolic Panel. This section has all your kidney numbers such as Creatinine, BUN, and EGFR. In the urine test section, you want to look to see if there's protein or blood.

You don't by any chance know Ricky Gervais, JANE?

Sorry to hear of your surgeries and now possible kidney problems. You certainly need to ask about this further with your doctor. Acute kidney disease can be reveresed,

I had stage 1 after an operation done late when they had to remove part of my bowel which had died, but it seems ok now, Often if it can't be reversed but they can help stop it getting worse. You Definitely need to speak to someone and to get more information
