Yes I know but having worked with plenty of social workers over the years I am aware that the vast majority of people don’t have social worker involvement these days.

No, I don't, even though I am on PIP (Personal Indepence Payment). My husband helps me a lot and I use part of the PIP to help once a week with housework.

Some people do need one, it depends on your level of care needs - mental and physical. If someone thinks they need one then they can ask the Local Council for an assessment, but it is difficult to meet the criteria of need. Doctors can refer patients to Social Services. If in doubt you can ask your local Citizens Advice Bureau for advice.
