My PT started this week. She has me doing core work and hamstring stretches using a therapy ball. She said at my next visit she will work on my back to prevent scar tissue and adhesions, not sure what that entails? I should have asked what she means to do, but we were at the end of our session when she mentioned it so I didn't think to. Anyone know what she likely will be doing?

L5 S1 fusion and therapy
Limbering exercises. Idea is to prevent internal scars from sticking together.
Keep moving all tissues constantly to prevent that happening.
I'm sure it is all on YouTube.
Good luck.
I looked on YouTube and found nothing.
Is this any help? sinicropispine.com/prevent-...
Hi Jeanie, That sounds like a b.good start with good OT support! Core strength is vital for us oldies (I am 80, doing some Pilates daily), and internal/external scarring is better if away/dissolved. Keep at it and notice the difference, tho maybe slow at first. Best timbowPSP. xx
Thanks for the responses!
Hello,
That’s a huge amount to cope with, it’s good that you have reached out. How has your pain been?
Understanding pain is an important step in learning to manage your pain. Pain affects people and impacts lives in many different ways. I think your physiotherapist might give you some stretches and exercises to do on the therapy ball, focusing on your back muscles.
If there is anything else we can help you with please get back in touch with us.
Best wishes
