i’ve had this rash on my hands for a few months now. it causes horrific burning pain when my hands come into contact with soaps, body washes, shampoos etc, and warm and hot water. it’s mainly on the backs of both hands and my wrists but sometimes spreads up my fingers. it’s not raised or itchy at all.
i’m only asking because i can’t find anything that looks like it at all!

Hello. I feel for you! Go to your family Doctor. Ask him to run you blood sugars. I had the same thing on my hands. It started with just the the thumb area, then spread all over the tips of my hands. Itching, burning, and not pleasant to look at. This went on for almost a year and I kept hoping it would just go away but it wouldn't, and I tried everything! After my blood panels were done, I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. Once placed on proper meds for this, the rash began to lighten up. After a couple months, I had no rash at all. Just a suggestion. I hope you find relief soon.
wow! thank you for sharing. diabetes is the last thing i would’ve thought of… i had bloods done in november, including an insulin resistance test and there were no concerns but i’ll definitely speak to my gp. i’m glad you are now free of your rash!
Hello, my friend had similar rash for years but his became itchy, bled & caused lots of stress. After many tests it came back to show he was allergic to a water stimulater that is added to most toiletries & detergents. Soon as he used the lotion his Dr prescribed the rash went away. The lotion is used for showering, shaving & washing hair, sorry don’t know the name of it but it was in a light green container with a pump. He stopped using any commercial soaps & detergents for a long time. Please see your Dr soon as you can & I wish you all the best with it x 🦋
I always ask this, have you ever been prescribed Ciprofloxacin, an antibiotic, which can cause reactions like this? Good if you haven’t! Have you tried antihistamines?
i don’t think so! i hadn’t thought to try antihistamines up until recently as it wasn’t bothering me as much, but now it is quite a pain so i’m definitely going to try them and see what happens. thanks for your input!
I had similiar and in the end i couldnt even bare cold water on my hands, i used to put protective gloves on to shower. The gp gave me a cream to use when washing my hands. 3 years i was like it, then it went away and im non the wiser of what caused it, i was just relieved. I had an allergy.
