Does anyone have any good advice on herbal sleeping supplements I've tried a few but none seem to help

Lack of sleep
I find that magnesium citrate, about 100 to200 gms around 7pm, helps.Sleep hygeine is obviously important.
Failing that, a small dose of melatonin will work. That needs to be 200 to 500 micrograms. The only way you'll get that small a dose is through liquid form.
I get 2.5grm liquid melatonin from Vitasunn on line. The dropper ,when full, carries 2.5 mg- so--- with my super calculator brain 😜, I figure that a 1/10 th of the dropper gives me 0.25 grms - or in French, 250 micrograms. Oooh la la!
Sleep well.
My best trick is to write my "to do " list before going to bed. Anything that comes up in my mind after that ,goes in the " recycle" bin.👻😴
Melatonin is amazing. It is a hormone, tho.
But it's natural, and is manufactured by the hooman body.!!??
Just want to say I tried the liquid melatonin purchased from vitasunn as advised and omg I've had best nights sleep now fir 10 days I just hope it continues thank you all for the advise 🙂
Delighted that worked for you. It's ok to try for a few nights , but not more. It's mainly to break the insomnia cycle/ habit. Also, if you use it too much, it will actually cause rls. And maybe rebound ( insomnia)
I would use it about once a week. And also use sleeping pills about once a fortnight.
Mainly I need to get my head straight and good sleep hygeine.
Long may you sleep well.
My family have used Melatonin for over 20 years, we order it from America and usually take 5 to 10mg.
I love the This works range but particularly the deepsleep blend drops, supposed to be used in a diffuser but I use one drop on my duvet and wipe the excess from top on the edge of my pillow, it is potent and does the job.
I read a few pages before bed then tense and relax my whole body a couple of times by squeezing and releasing top to toe just before sleep and the combination of oils, reading, tensing and relaxing, along with my meds, usually has me off the sleep within minutes. I have to be just tired enough from the reading to perfect it usually though, or else there will be some tossing and turning.
I also use Boots dry mouth spray to help at night for mouth breathing and make my own lip balm with shea butter which keeps my lips moisturised got much longer than any other lip balms and helps keep me sleeping.
Have you tried Melatonin Gummies? The Neurologist suggested them to me. I bought mine online. They are not a medication but naturally induce sleep. You just put in your mouth and dissolve. xx
I havnt tried them but I've seen them as I've been browsing thank you
Melatonin is my go to now. I've managed to stop taking amyltryptaline now. Just had melatonin for a week to get my sleep brain consistent and now just have one by the side of bed just in case. If half an hour passed and I'm not asleep, I get up take a melatonin and reset my sleep routine and that seems to be doing the trick. No groggy wake ups.
Hi there, I also have major sleep problems...both getting to sleep and staying asleep. I can sometimes drop off ok, but often wake up 15 to 20 minutes later.
I often use Lavender to try help sleep...both Lavender Oil on my pillow or burning a Lavender Incense Stick.... Unfortunately it doesn't help that much. Failing that I take a "Sleep Aid" tablet or two which does help a lot...helps you to get to sleep and stay asleep. I wouldn't say it's herbal, but it is available over the counter at my pharmacy. So it's not like a potent sleep medication.
Good luck though! I understand how infuriating it can be...not to mention how rough it can make you feel.
