First time posting here.. I'm tired and scared

I'm 16, turning 17 in a week. I've had migraines for about 2 years, 1 year of them being chronic. No medication I have tried so far seems to work.

I am constantly fatigued, have a migraine about 60-70% of the time, excruciating stomach pain whenever I eat, nausea constantly (but rarely throwing up), very bad aches in my bones and joints all the time with some sharp, pulsating pain that gets worse when I move.

Recently it has become so bad that I have to lie in bed for the rest of the day after going to college for 3 hours. I am seeing my doctor in a couple of days, but I am scared they will just tell me that I am being dramatic like my last one did.

I'm exhausted of feeling like this, I just want to be able to be a teenager. And I am so so scared that I will never be able to do any of the things that I want to do with my life.

Oh dear that really is nasty for you. Do you have good supportive parents or other family members to share your worries with. Your very young to have to shoulder all this on your own. Wishing you well in your future and hope things settle down .

Does it get worse in the sun or nearer to your period? Any rashes or flushing across your face?.

Hair loss? Joint/muscle pains? Mouth ulcers or nasal ulcers? Is it worse in your hands and feet?

And is the tummy pain really bad, lasts a few days then goes? Sometimes with constipation?

Are you particularly bendy/double jointed? Did you perform any "tricks" when you were a child like being able to be extra flexible etc.

Sorry for the inquisition. Just trying to see if I can point you in a direction that may help you

I have multiple auto-immune conditions plus EDS so I know how helpful various forums can be.

Yeah it does get worse in the summer and when I have been in sunlight for a while, and I do get flushes across my face with rashes literally everywhere. No hair loss or ulcers, but bad muscle and joint pains to the point where I can barely walk sometimes. The stomach pain is kind of a dull ache that's constantly there, gets very bad for about an hour after eating then goes back to the normal ache. Never been flexible at all, and not bendy/double jointed (EDS isn't really a concern for me tbh, I highly doubt I have it). Thanks for all of the things to think about, I hope you're doing okay!!

Well with your symptoms then I would be asking to see a rheumatologist and have lupus or mixed connective tissue disease ruled out.

I highly recommend checking out the lupus UK page on health unlocked.

Write down what you have told us here when you see gp. It is easy when speaking to get muddled and emotional. Here you have clearly explained the issues you are having.

was on pizotifen for over a year, and other than gaining 10kg, it didn't do anything for me :( I'm glad you've found it works for you!

Not much I can add to the comments from others except to say, buy yourself a pretty notebook and not only write down all you are feeling but also take it with you to the Doctors and make notes whilst you are there as to what is said to you. Do not be afraid of getting upset during your appointment, that happens all the time to me and I am 75 years old!! Doctors are accustomed to this.

Remember you are unique and have every right to be so.

Good luck and do not be afraid to stand up for yourself whilst always remaining polite.

I find it helps to take a big breath in and think of something else that makes me happy when I get upset.

Take care and let all of us on the Forum know how you are, you will always find love and support here.
