Stroke and chronic pain

Has anyone experienced a stroke that affected their CRPS or other chronic pain?

I have CRPS in the left knee following replacement surgery. A few days ago I had what I now know was a stroke. The symptoms were what they call "positive" which means no muscle weakness, speech unaffected, just numbness and tingling down the left hand side.

The odd thing is that my CRPS seems very much better! So of course I'm wondering whether it might last. I never thought there might be an upside to having a stroke!

Just variable pain in and around the knee. Had other symptoms early on but not for a good while now. Haven't spoken to any medic about it yet but I have an appointment (previously arranged) with a specialist pain management physiotherapist a week on Monday and I'll certainly bring it up then. The numbness has now largely gone (lasted about 3.5 days) but the knee still feels great so here's hoping! Do you have CRPS?

I don't have CRPS but have treated it successfully. One thing that comes to mind with your history is scars. Frequently an improperly healed scars can generate a small electrical signal causing pain. Simple to treat. Just have your doc inject the scar with procaine or lidocaine. A fairly painless procedure unless the scar is 'hot' then it will hurt like hell for a few seconds and the pain will be gone. In my own case, I get occasional sharp ankle pain, which I am able to resolve by injecting my ankle with ozone. The therapy is called prolozone. I have also used it on my back, knees, and shoulders. Thanks to prolozone I am still able to ski at age 74 which is great since lift tickets are free for super seniors. Dr. Shallenburger wrote this article journalofprolotherapy.com/p.... Hope this helps.
