Hi Dotti

What does of Zomorph are you on. Zomorph are a slow release tablet that works over 12 hours. Perhaps you should go back to your Dr & ask him for a higher dose. They may take time before you get any benefit from them. Good luck

Hi Timboto, thanks for your reply. I was on 10mg x 2 to start for two weeks. No pain release now I on 20mg twice a day no release again. Phoned r this am and she refering me to spinal clinic and if they cant do anything then pain control clinic. She cannot up my dosage because of my age.

Hey Dottiland,

Gaberpentin (Lyrica) can works wonders on some people if taken in combination with very strong pain medication. Possibly long acting 24 hour Tramadol. I call my Lyrica the 'silent wonder'. When I don't take the Lyrica the pain is electrifying, when I take it I notice a 30 to 40% respite in the pain. I am not familiar with Zomorph.

I have been on Lyrica since 2007 . There is a medication called Rivitril, it also sells under a generic name Paxon. It provides remarkable respite to my pain. Unbelievable relief when taken as prescribed and in combination with my other meds.

Chronic pain does not generally work with one pain medication. It takes a combination of drugs and finding the right dose that works for you takes time.

I have been on the same does of meds for years. Besides reducing my 24 hour long acting Tramadol from 300mg to 200mg daily and reducing my Lyric to 150mg . You simply have to find the combination of meds that works for you.

I know the pain can be debilitating. I had a dreadful episode only the other night just to remind me just how dreadful it can be. Stay strong, a hot water bottle filled with boiling water last longer than a wheat pack, it may help for a short time.

Kind Regards

Anna

Hello Dottilind

Sorry to hear that the pain you experience is worsening.

At the following link, you can find more information about medications to help manage long-term pain - As you mention, your current medication isn't helping - perhaps you could discuss some other medication options with your doctor?:

As well as medication, there are some other ways that people tend to manage chronic back pain. At the following link, you will find a 'podcast' to listen to, which explains persistent back pain and some exercises that may help with the pain:

Also, at the following link you can find more information about alternative ways of managing pain such as acupuncture and pain management programmes provided by the NHS - painconcern.org.uk/resource...

I hope this information helps.
