Hi i have been taking Pregablin 600mg Amitriptyline 75mg and 8 Co codamol a day for 10 years and not had the problems you mention apart from in the evening when i do get very sleepy when i take the Amitriptyline, how long has your mum been on this medication and has she told the doctor about the side effects she is getting? I hope this helps
Hi! Thanks so much for your response! It’s much appreciated!! She has been on the medication for probably about 5 or 6 years now. The doctor seemed to think the sickness was being caused by some sort of anxiety but it just seems so strange that it happens every month for about 4 or 5 days and then it lifts until the next time. It’s so strange.
Hi Hidden ,
Sorry to hear about your mum's experience. We have some information leaflets on exactly the type of medications you mentioned on our website which can serve as useful references. You can access them here: painconcern.org.uk/medicine....
Otherwise, if the discomfort is affecting her everyday life, it is definitely worth having a discussion with her GP and explore alternatives. There are some who really find that pain management beyond medication, such as relaxation techniques can really help the pain experience. You can read more about pain management here: painconcern.org.uk/manage-y....
Wishing you and your mum the best,

Thank you so much for your message. I will certainly look into everything you had suggested. Many thanks x
