Spoke to my cousin who helped enormously. However, does anyone have a clue regarding Type 1 diabetes for 42 years with a sudden onset of peripheral neuropathy that is painful and reduces one to tears? Legs keep collapsing and unable to stand

Has the person’s GP tested for folate or B12 deficiency, or PA? You may find helpful advice on the PA forum.

Best to go see the doctor. I believe peripheral neuropathy is common in type 1 diabetics.

Yes, seen a doctor. I was just wondering about alternative ways to relieve the pain (especially at night). I know the Pregablin should help (eventually) - been diabetic for 42 years so had lots of fun already!
