Anyone have experience taking Flexeril? I was prescribed 10mg (the off brand version) for shoulder pain. Are there any common side effects aside from drowsiness?
What is your experience with this drug? Did it help your pain relief and how long did it take to work?
Did your pain come back after you stopped taking it?
Any info would be helpful!

Flexeril was a great muscle relaxer. When the patent ran out they quit making it. After a years search I found out it wasn't available. So I filled 10 generic for a trip just in case. Well, I halved one and took it. Lay down and waves of ripples ran through my body, the reaction was unpleasant, I tried to throw any left up but ended up laying there praying until I fell asleep. All I use now is magnesium and essential oils that relax muscles. Flexeril is not a pain pill, it does stop the muscle spasms and therefore the pain from that disappears.
Hi... Flexeril worked great for me years ago but it seems to me the dose was closer to 30 mg? But it’s been so long that I’m not sure. It was prescribed along with whatever they had before Norco, but the effect was definitely no pain and no ability to drive or walk even. Lately my new doctor prescribed methocarbamol which is nearly as strong so I only take it night. Works much better than baclofen. As far as other side effects i didn’t notice any. And I also use a little magnesium for muscle pain since a deficiency there will cause the same symptoms.
I have tried methocarbamol and take 3 big tablets with no relief at all. I'd love to think flexural or something else would release muscle cramps, pain, and lumps.
It knocks you out. I would take it before bed with food. I used to break them in half. You wake drowsy but it does relax you which helps. After that a painkiller with breakfast. Try it a few days to get what you need out of it and monkey with breaking the pill. You can break them.
Flexeril is a common muscle relaxer. It isn’t a pain drug but could help relax the muscles causing your pain. If you have concerns about what it will do for you. I have snapped mine in half and even a quarter to try it out or use less than prescribed
It just made me mushy all over.

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) is pretty good as a muscle relaxer and if that is the source of your pain, it will help, but probably still need a good antiinflammatory or better. Soma (carisoprodol) is much better than flexeril but doctors are skiddish on using it because some using elicit drugs users like it added on their drug cocktail, so they punish people in pain..go figure..
