Hi I'm Robyn, new to here. I'm 20 years old and I've got my first Orthopaedic Surgery Clinic appointment for my persistent back pain, upper and lower pain. What can I expect for this?

Hi there, firstly welcome aboard , my advice would be if you have had a scan and if anything showed up then you will have to discuss what treatment is required sometime surgery is a option , good luck.

Yes if you have scan and paperwork with you will help you in consult. If not he will request results or order a scan. He will want to know if you’ve done physio how long other exercise & treatments and how king you’ve been like this. He may physically ask you to move for him good luck !

It all depends on the severity of your pain/symptoms and the mood the specialist is in. I would think that X-rays would be the first step, blood tests and perhaps a referral to physiotherapy. Don't expect huge solutions immediately, scans aren't a matter of course unless you have major symptoms.
