What have they said is the next step for you? What type of migraines have they said you have x
I have been prescribed Imigran (here in Australia) for my migraines. You take it when you feel migraine starting. I've also been told that botox is good for severe migraine.
This is true. Learning to stay away from certain things, and what can prevent the least does help - to manage the pain. There is some information on the NHS website about it - type this same title, plenty information. It lists some triggers, and so forth. However, it is about different treatments to try on the side, of lifestyle changes, etc. - listed on NHS as well - , and being able to do certain things, to make it manageable, to deal with. If treatments work, is good. Reporting things, to the GP, keeps this pain up-to-date, and you get recommended so many things.
To be honest, I have been diagnosed with this myself, and know other people too, difference in having it once, to having it for years. some people have it different, to others. Personally, I am still trying to find things that work, long-term. May this help a little, and as they say, if anything ask your GP, phramists or greater, specialists, chairities that document it. Take care.
My lifelong migraines disappeared when I went gluten free for other reasons, maybe it would work for you, hope it does as I know how unbearable they are.
As someone who never used to get headaches /migraines my sympathy is on board with you, but trying to solve the migraine when it comes on, my doctor advised a more preventative treatment plan, I've been put on propananol 40mg 3 time's a day, now they don't always stop the migraine all the time but definitely have reduced in how many I'm getting per day, unfortunately mine were always happening while I was asleep, and I'm a grown man, and these migraines had me in tears rocking at the end of the bed, I was using a backup medication called rizetriptan which you dissolve under the tongue, but these migraines would come on suddenly and by that time it was already into a skull busting pain,I believe males over the age of 50,and who are smokers fall into this bracket, also I'm vitamin b12 deficience, and this can cause migraines, hope this snippet of information helps you, good luck for now, thanks.
