Hi Sara I have the same pain in my bum and sitting is like sitting on hard rock. I always sit on cushions at home. Sleeping on my side with a cushion between my knees is also helpful. I also get the pain down the back of my legs with severe pain just under my butts on both sides. This is all nerve pain. Your toes locking and not being able to move you're legs is also nerve pain. You need to have a CAT scan of the Sacral spis, ine to see if you're sacrum and pelvis is healing properly. With osteoporosis it often doesn't heal properly. Mine di dnt and from what you said I don't think you'res has either. Can you afford to see an Orthopedic surgeon. I think you need to see someone who specialist in back problems. My meds don't work either. Lola x

Hi Sara that's good that you can see a surgeon within the next few weeks. Can you get a referral from your Dr for a scan of the Sacral spine as this will help the surgeon see what's happening with you're sacrum. Good luck and,let me know how you go. Lola

Nerve damage can cause referred pain some distance from the site of your initial complaint. If you are having problems associated with your toes, there may be tendon damage. Nerves run in the centre of the tendon and if there is problems the sheif can become affected by the arthritis or swelling. If your pain is coming from the hips and you have nerve damage, referred pain may be a very real problem. I have something very much the same in my rhs arm it affects down through my wrist to fingers. I also suffer pain in various areas of my body, most pains I have are referred.

You need to discuss your conditions with your GP. It may be a good idea to see a Rhumi again and discuss ways of treatment they can offer. Nerve damage can be treated with a low dose of some medications. used for depression. Your Health Professionals may help you control any damage caused by tendons and nerve damage

Let me know how you get on
