For the past 4 years I've been back and forth to doctors about chronic back pain that I didn't know the cause to. I was referred for an MRI scan and was told nothing showed up and it was just growing pains (I was 16 at this point). I also went for physio which actually made my back pain worse so stopped this.
I decided to go privately to a sports therapist, who did an ultra sound scan (which I would of thought should have been done before an MRI through the NHS) and told me my back was riddled with soft tissue damage, and also told me there could be a possibility that there could be some nerve damage in my back. I don't know whether I should go back to see a doctor now with this information or whether I'm just going to get sent home with more exercises to do that do absolutely nothing. As far as I cam remember there was no 'accident' or anything that caused the pain. I'm only 18 and I there are some days I can hardly move with the pain in my back. Any advice would be greatly appreciated and any similar stories too!

You poor young woman, I really feel for you. Where do you feel the nerve pain?
If I were you I wouldn't do any exercise. I think nerve pain needs rest. Exercise cannot do anything for damaged nerves. I found this out the hard way. I suggest if you can make an appointment with an Orthopedic Neurosurgeon or at least an Orthopedic surgeon and take all your scans with you. I am not suggesting surgery but at least an opinion from a back specialist. All the best and let us know how you go. Lola
Go back to see your GP. This private report needs documenting. Soft tissue damage can take a long time to heal. My daughter is in a similar situation she is twenty. Like you she as no history of trauma but she as a prolapsed disc. Like you there is a lot of soft tissue damage.
Go back to your doctor. No one here can advise you properly. You do need to ask the physio for a copy of the scan or a written report to give to your GP. Don't try to report verbally .
Hope you get to the bottom of the problem soon.

Hi hunny, Sorry to hear your suffering, Myself have been a back pain sufferer for over 25 years, with significant damage there, and only recently discovered after 18 years of horrendous pain that my vitamins were out of whack. Vitamin D was low, B12 was deficient and Folic Acid low, Iron minimal. I now use B12, Folic Acid, Vitamin D and Magnesium for my pain and it has helped much better than any pain killers. It maybe worth seeking blood tests before you try all these though as Vitamin D can be toxic if levels become to high, B12 isn't toxic and can be used in high doses. Good luck and i hope you get releif soon
I was 24 when I injured my back and neck.was told surgery, was my only solution to fix pain. Now I'am 41 and have had 5 doctors say that i should have never had any surgery. That badically the surgeons where just money hungry . No joke.
I 've been told i should have tried resting, acupuncture and lots of other thing's. Due to been so young my body probably would have fixed it self.
So talk to lots of doctor's get many opinions and ask lots of ??? Before you have then cut you open. There are good and bad doctor's every where
Iam also trying Cbd oil which it's crazy I thought. But to my dismay iam actually noticing some less pain . Which I thought was going to be crap. But actually there something to it. Now I'am just trying to figure out how much i really need to use to really see a big difference. And how often I need to take. Just a suggestion
