Hi all, i hope your not in too much pain this Sunday evening. I mentioned that I had my Esa interview at the beginning of this month. I thought after my pip the stress was over. Anyway after what felt like the longest 3 1/2 weeks, I got the dreaded brown envelope in the post. My husband opened it and gave me it showing no emotion I was so nervous reading it, due to all the bad press that has been getting with stopping people's money who need it, we all know what's been said and done. Good news though I've been awarded my Esa. I hope all of you that are still waiting get the right decision.

Sorry for the essay guy's

Good news what rates have been awarded, if you don’t mind me asking, lol, I’m a nosey sod I know lol. Great news about your pip though. I was the same over mine and like you said, stress and waiting and waiting and when that brown envelope popped through the door I hid and someone opened it and read it, and then read it out aloud, it must take some years of people’s lives lol cos it did mine.all the best.

Do u mean the rates for Esa or Pip? I don't think they realise how stressful it is. I've stressed and have been so worried about my decision incase I had to appeal. It's so sad that people have taken there own lives over this.

Oh don't worry my memory is shocking with this damn fibro fog it's really bad sometimes it frustrates me. They have given me standered rate for care and the same for the mobility side. Which is roughly£120,a week. Xx

Always nice to hear about a positive outcome, amongst the negatives. Really pleased for you Debbs!! I hope the next step in your pain management leads to the relief you need.

Its not right or fair how the DWP make us who are suffering from illnesses go through all that stress, anxiety and worry while waiting to find out if we have been granted PIP or ESA and sometimes both at the same time. I had an ESA assessment back in March of this year, a week later I had a phone call to say I was fit for work and kicked off ESA and told to go to the job center to sign in for jobseekers. I was devastated. I then had a PIP assessment in April, so more anxiety and stressing but I was granted with PIP, the standard rate of care and enhanced rate of mobility.

When I signed on for jobseekers I was advised by the lady in the job center to get a fit note for 13 weeks to cover my jobseekers as she could see that I was not well enough to work.

I had another letter off the DWP saying my mandatory appeal had failed so I sent off a tribunal appeal.

I started stressing out again when those 13 weeks were coming to the end and decided to phone CAB for some help. They told me to put a new claim in for ESA as my condition had deteriorated. I had another assessment done 12 weeks later which I was granted, thank God, I was granted the disability rate of ESA.

It is so wrong how the DWP puts so much strain on our lives which makes our lives feel so worthless and stressful, as if it's not stressful enough trying to cope with our illnesses.

Lots of cwtches to those that have or are still going through the stress and worry that the DWP put you through.

Hi Natalie. I had my pip assessment done first waited a few weeks for that got awarded that. Then thought right I can relax now. Only to get a letter from dwp saying I needed to go for a f2f assessment so more stress providing evidence to prove my medical condition, then waited what felt like forever, but only 3- 1/2 wks and wad awarded my Esa such a relief.

Hi Deb

It is such a relief when you get that letter, I was like that after my 2nd assessment. It's like they are trying to make out that your lying about how your feeling, it really makes my blood boil. As a result of my illness I have had to move from somewhere I have lived for the last 3 years into a house that is more suitable for my needs.

Take care chick and look after yourself

Hiya. Yeah I'd agree with you there, that's how I've felt on a number of cases when dealing with health care people. Xx

Great News, Debbs !
