I know someone who got stem cell treatment for a knee problem. It did not work.

Stem cell treatment is still in the experimental stage. Worth waiting. Worth looking at improving posture and muscular control in order to reduce stresses on back and hips.

Have a look at Alexander Technique.

Treatment of back and hip pain will depend on what is causing the pain. The growth of new cells will not help in all cases.

I heard from one of the researchers in the UK who was working at the hospital where they were doing the trial into stem cells and knees and he too said it was disappointing that it didn't work. There are other things in the pipeline, but it will be a long way off still. One of the things they are looking at is stopping the inflammation which is the first bit of the sequence of joint degeneration, long before the bones start to wear. but they are doing the work in mice still, I don't think they have started trials in humans.

My ortho consultant suggested stem cell therapy in the hope to postpone the need for THRs. He's heavily involved in stem cell research at the hospital. We tried it May 2017 but unfortunately it didn't work for me but I believe he's had positive results in the past.

Hi all,

Thanks for your feedback. 6 months ago, i was knocked down off my bicycle by a car. Since this accident, I have been diagnosed with a straight neck and lower back with early stages of osteoathritis in lower back and also possible laberal tears in hips with inflammation in them. I am waiting on another mri of my neck and also upper back which i haven't checked. I have also inflammation in right knee and sprained right ankle. Basically, sprained my whole body.

I have tried osteopath, physio, rolfing, accupunture and neuro prolotherapy. I have a consulatnt physio and I am undergoing a strength training for all over my body.Based on research, it seems stem cells treatment is the way forward but I'm unsure. I just want to get some relief. At this stage, i dont think body full heals properly and once you have accident with back..it just goes downhill from there.

Get control of your pain first if you can.

Chronic inflammation is made worse by pain.

My orthopedic doctor told me that the stem cells are not very good. That is the case in Australia anyway. I hope you have better luck.

Do you mean a stem cell transplant. If so it is a very serious procedure with high mortality. Take care.

Try Magnesium Forte, iron and a subliminal vitamin B12 Extreme available from ProHealth. It is worth a try.
