I am a new boy on here. Firstly, having contracted polio of right leg when 5/6 years old has left my right leg weak. Have lived with it for 60+ yrs. I have recently been unable to walk at all through damaging my hip I think on a trip to London , which was a necessity.
I have been to Chiropractor which has helped me a lot, with a lot more movement now. Has anyone else had similar problems, if so are they pain free now? And how long were you having problems? Any advice please

Hi Askboy, Many GPs have physiotherapists attached to their practices as an NHS service. So it's a good idea to see your GP to discuss your problem. I was referred to my local hospital's physio dept who are outstanding.
I would talk to your GP. I dont want to worry you but the polio virus can lie dormant for many years. It can resurface in later life to cause symptoms again. Your GP will know about this post polio syndrome.
Thanks for advice. Yes I have been reffered to physio dept, but have to wait for 3mths for next available appointment!!! I am using a chiropractor whom is helping me, still have pain though.
