Partner back to square one!

As some of you know I posted on here a while ago about my partners chronic pain in his back, legs and numbness in his legs and ankles. He got referee to physio and has recently been discharged.

All in all it was pretty hopeless, the physio guy didn't seem to have a clue what the cause could be or how to treat it! It was just my partner sat talking to the guy most of the time while he looked at his clipboard!

So now the physio has said for us to go back to our doctor and request 'further investigation' it will be 7 years in December since my partner started having these problems and we're right back at square one!

Physiotherapy can help stregnthen your muscles and endurance but they cannot help with the pain as I've experienced where in fact during my 3 months in the therapy they've have caused me more pain in every visits. I suggest you visit the doctor or better yet find a new doctor and see if what he says are similar to the previous one. A second opinion wont hurt.

What type of investigations has you husband had? Scan, mri? Seems a very long time to be suffering without any explanations x

He's had 2 MRI scans (one his first GP sent him for and the other his 2nd GP practice sent him for) he's been to see a 'specialist' too it took him 3 hours to get there for the specialist to have him press his thumbs down his back tell him there was nothing wrong and that he could go! It was literally a 5 second 'check'

I guess nothing showed up on the mri? I'd keep pushing for test as obviously there is something not right. X

Both MRI's came back with nothing showing up. My partner s two previous GP practices have said he's making it all up (because they can't physically see a problem) he's also had a doctor laugh at him and say he was lying when he'd gone to ask for a different test to be done.

He's ended up changing to the same GP as me because of it all, so hopefully they'll re assess him and find something

Please look into an inflammatory reason for all of this.! Has ankylosing spondylitis been ruled out?
