My boyfriend is always having headaches on the left hand side of his head behind his left ear. It's an everyday all day thing he takes Excedrin sometimes but nothing helps. Going to make him an appointment with a neurologist Monday. He does have high blood pressure which he takes meds for but I don't know why they happen so often any suggestions?

There are many things that cause headaches, and not all of them are neurological. Sometimes it can be caused by the muscles in the neck that run from between your shoulder blades up either side of your scull.
I hope the neurologist can eliminate any serious problems and give your boyfriend some suggestions as to what might be going on.
I went through a period of getting headaches but they were always whilst I was asleep, they lasted around half an hour, but were always in the same place, started in my left ear, went to the top of my head, and the pressure behind my eye socket and bridge of my nose was intense, and then my nose would start running and after that the pressure would be relieved and as quickly the headaches appeared they'd disappear, some times I would get 3 attacks per night,I have a feeling that my blood pressure was raised and that could cause your boyfriends problems as well,or the other diagnosis could be cluster headaches,or sometimes referred as suicide headaches cause of the intensity of the headaches, mine lasted for roughly 4 months and as I'm not a person who suffers with headaches I was worried, but things have settled down now, hopefully you'll get a clearer picture when you see the doctor, good luck for now
