I will soon (hopefully) be getting an appointment with the pain doctor to see if I can get an injection. I don't know what kind of injection, that is all the nurse told me during the telephone appointment. If anyone has had them, are they helpful?

Hi.My husband has steroid injections in his shoulders to help with pain.He thinks they are wonderful.Good luck.
I have recently had injections into the spine area for chronic pain. I was advised that it had a 60% failure rate beforehand. But some pain relief may be gained regardless.
Unfortunately, I am one of the 60%. I had roughly 2 weeks of sheer bliss. It was wonderful, I was over the moon. No pain at all. It has now returned.
I have also had a cortisone injection into my shoulder that has been extremely successful. 10+ years pain free movement.
Best of luck.
O wow Chris, did the injection hurt very much?
Hi Chris, do you think it's possible you may have re injured the nerve that caused the pain to come back in the lower spine... like you said the shoulder lasted for over 10 years..... I saw a post that warned about being real careful when having the lumbar injected for 4-5 days bed rest... Just wondering
