Back in June I had neck Surgery. Dr. put 2 pins in my neck because my vertebrae had collasped and was causing my hands to constantly go numb. After surgery I was feeling sooooo much better, but now its all come back and its even worse. Im constantly in pain all day long. At times alot im crying. I really dont believe its corpral tunnel. The pain has now traveled to my collar bones. It feels like my collar bones are being stretched out and causing severe pain in my hands. My wrist and elbows dont hurt, Please i wish someone has a answer for me. I cant drive because my hands go numb. I cant sit in anyone position without going numb in my left hand. (Mainly) no matter what my whole hand is constantly hurting. This problem has been with me for about 7 years now and not getting better. I can sometimes move my Head or Neck a certain way and the numbness will go away but only for a few seconds.
Constant tingling, stinging, needles, knumbne... - Pain Concern
Constant tingling, stinging, needles, knumbness all day long, it hurts so bad I cry.
Hi u can have one or two of things the first is that u may have carpal tunnel syndrome or it could be that u may have crps but I think it could be the first one by the sound of the symptoms u have get to u GP to refer u to a pain specialist they will put u on the right meds that u mite need. Good luck hope u get it sorted out.
Best wishes
Well I can identify completely with your condition. I have exactly the same constant stinging in my hands following three operations on my neck for stenosis (compression on the spine causing nerve damage). I think the condition you have is neuropathy (nerve damage). It is not carpel tunnel syndrome.
Sadly there doesn't seem to be any cure. I've tried lots of medicines and therapies but nothing has worked for me.
Perhaps a visit to a pain clinic might help. I wish you luck and I empathize with you completely. I also cry a lot and I can no longer drive. In fact my husband has had to take over most of the household chores including cooking.
This condition is so terrible and it isn't possible for most people to understand what we are going through.
I feel sorry for you and I hope you can find some relief. All the best.
Wow, Lots of thanks. My son thinks i need to go see a chiropractor. My Dr. said that he might have to go in through the back of my neck next time and do the same procedure. I really dont want anymore Surgery. I have more pain now than i did before my surgery. I cant even do my job anymore. I cant afford to lose my job.
Anyways thanks for responding. I hope chiropractor does me good.
See a McTimony chiropractor. It is possible that one of your muscles in the back has gone into spasm. The effect of this is to pull bony structures onto the root nerves. A McTimony chiropractor should have the techniques to release the spasmed muscle.
Releasing the spasmed muscle should hopefully ease some of the problems. A chiropractor should hopefully be able to check for anything else wrong that needs urgent attention from other health professionals.
It is important to see your GP as well for their input.
It is worth seeing an Alexander teacher to learn how to use your muscles better. An Alexander teacher cannot relieve muscle spasms the way a McTimony chiropractor can, but they can help prevent you having the muscle spasm in the first place.
Yoga is a discipline that is worth taking up as yoga is a discipline that works on the muscles and helps improve their function.
Hope this helps.
sometimes i cant even sit down, because my hand will start hurting sooo bad , and it use to be when i relaxed my body it would start painfully go numb, but now its when ever it wants. I cant control it. All day long, even in my sleeep.
I had a double neck fusion and a plate 4 screws put in in 2011. My pain is worse now!! I was told they could go in from the back and redo mine there is no way in hell I will do it.
