Hello... I've took them in yhe the past and had to stop them cause itching was terrible, told doc and was told to stop them cause itching means your allergic to them, I got antihistamines to try and help itch, lanacane talc was also helpful, the itching will go away in a few hours as long as you don't take anymore, I know how you feel your itchy in places you never new you had, a shower will help to, hope you feel better soon x

Hello

Have you just started on Tramadol ?

If you have just begun taking them, sometimes they may cause an itch. Generally if this does not stop soon you will need to discuss this problem with your GP. You may, be allergic, Sometimes it just may be you getting used to the medication

Are you taking any other medications such as NSID or Biologic medications. ??

Horrible drug. Makes me so itchy too and leaves you with a hangover type pain. I much prefer cocodamol which I know isn't as strong. Maybe your doctor could give you something different?

I don't know about tramadol, but I know codeine can definitely cause an itch because of the way it releases histamine as a side effect. You could try over the counter antihistamines to see if it gets rid of the itch, but it might be worth talking to your doctor about this.

Hi yes I take tramadol and I do get itchy arms occasionally but mainly it just zonks me out. It is the only thing I can take that takes the edge off. Nothing seems to take my pain away completely though.

When I first started taking it, it would make me itch, especially at night in bed which was really annoying when you're trying tiger to sleep! I've been on it about 8 months now and still occasionally get an itchy night, maybe once a month. I take over the counter anti-histamines and they seem to work. I've read it's a really common side effect.

Hi there , you soul sounds like you have had a reaction to opiates, stop immediately go to pharmacy for piriton or citerizine or similar. Maybe worth saying if you are ever in hospital means they can watch out for it. The itching is a side effect . Most people get it after being on it a long time you're obviously in the minority

Oh yes, the infamous 'morphine itch' as it's known in my house!! Don't know what it is specifically but I've been taking Tramadol for six years and always get it!! It's not an allergic reaction - you'd be more unwell if it is. May well be a 'sensitive' type reaction but as it's so common I'd say it's probably yet another side effect of medication.
