Back pain: Was playing golf suddenly felt this... - Pain Concern
Back pain
It's early days so rest and pain relief is the best plan at present. Prevention is difficult to advise on as the reasons for your pain are not known.
There is no way to stop it happening again. This is the nature of movement and getting in all sorts of awkward positions with the body when doing things. What you can do is learn to stop what you are doing at the moment you get warnings of things are not quite right. By continuing with what you are doing when things are not quite right leads to damaging things with the result that you have a period of unpleasant pain and discomfort.
Learning to detect when things are not quite right can be done by practising yoga, ta' chi and Alexander technique. The body is constantly changing and things do not work so well as we get older. Prevention is about learning about how are muscles behave and developing the means to keep muscles functioning well.
Hope this helps.
Maybe when its better try warm up stretches before you play golf to stop it happening again. Golf involves quick movements and twisting so its pretty easy to hurt yourself if you've been standing for long periods of time. Hope you feel better soon.
Thankyou for your advice, and warming up with exercises is something I have been thinking of,also getting there at my club 15 minutes earlier,to do warming up exercises.
