Go to your Gp. That's not right. Lyrica is know for many side affect. They may need to reduce the dose and increase it slowly.
In my experience it is not a nice drug . I do not tolerate it very well. I manage without ... It's not worth the side effects for me. But everyone on here has a different experience.
Is it too big a jump to go from 50 twice a day to 100 twice a day then?
I was on gabapentin years ago but had to come off it because I put a stone on three months on the run, so I came off it as weight was causing more problems.
I was just wanting something so I can sleep. If I can sleep then I can better manage effects of pain.
I think there is 25mg capsules mg capsules and 75 mg capsules. So talk to your gp and increase slowly. Gives the body time to adjust and can reduces side affects.
You should go back to see your doctor and discuss an alternative pain relief. It sounds like the side effect from the lyrica is upsetting your appetite. I had this with medication I was on but it eventually settled down.
I was kind of hoping it would settle down over time, I'm actually getting some sleep now they doubled the dose, I started on 50 am/pm now on 100 am/pm.
Think I will wait and see a while after hearing things can settle.
I can't take NSAID meds because I keep getting low blood count, I can't do nortriptiline or amytriptyline because they accentuate problems I get from brain injury. Tiredness, difficulty with balance, etc.
I take solpadol because I wanted to not be on strong pain meds.
I don't like the idea of keeping taking them for years on end because how do you know what damage you could be masking? Or conversely how would you know thing have gotten better?
Just getting better sleep makes a massive difference to my ability to manage my pain and function each day.
Finding pain meds that are effective is so very difficult !
The one I was ok with years ago was taken off the market. Sod's law.
