Not quite sure what you are asking. I can get what I call a "steroid flare" where things get worse before they get better. You can also potentially get allergic reactions from the other ingredients in the injection fluid, or even to the material used in the syringe or cap (which sometimes has latex in it somewhere)

I had the face flushing and feeling unwell for a few days, I felt depressed too, it helped my knee for a few weeks though. I don't think I would have it again.

Thanks for getting back to me , I am with you ,as I don't think I would have another injection

I have been having steroid injections in my hip back, shoulder neck, and knees.I asked my pain consultant if I was imagining the symptoms in the days after, which were feeling as if I had a temperature, getting very moody and agitated,He told me this was normal, its the cortisone going through your body.I have been having these injections 3 or 4 times a year since 1994,and I am still going.Hope all goes well for you.

Thanks sparky ,have you noticed any weight gain as that was something else I was worried about ,and with you having the injections for some time I thought you would know , I asked my doctor ,he said no ,but he also said there were no side effect s with the injection at all ,he was having a laugh

I haven't put any weight on with the steroid injections, I have however put weight on with Prednisalone steroid tablets, which I have to take if my Asthma/Copd start to get bad.I am also on Pregabalin which have caused some weight gain.I have joined slimming world, so fingers crossed I will hopefully lose some weight. I am sure you will be ok.Fingers crossed for you to.

Hi, I've had several steroid injections in the soft tissue between my shoulder blades, the only side affect I noticed was the tissue at the injection site sort of dimpled and collapsed a bit, this went away after a few weeks. Nothing apart from that. Take care. Kath

Thanks Kath I have now found out that some of the symptoms I had with the injection , like the face flushing sickness ,has been experienced by a few other people ,but I do feel a good amount of pain relief in my hip from the injection

I've had this flushing - I'm told it's the steroid attaching to oestrogen in us ladies so it's a bit bit like a hot flush! Doesn't last long though.

Hope you get good results from the treatment.
