Hi All. I have been diaognoised with Fibro and went to the pain clinic, they have suggested that my GP puts me on Tapentadol or Duloxetine

anyone had either of these and if so what side effects did you suffer.

Any help would be very helpful.

Hi Mikew I was diagnosed with fibro recently and had been put on duloxetine by the Drvwhich has helped me very much. The nerve pain in my feet is a little better although this hasn't gone completely.

Hey mikew, i tried duoxetine, i had sweat, in on tapentadol 300, this is as high a dose i can be on without side effects, its all trial and error, everyone is different, hope this helps

Make sure your gp prescribes an anti sickness drug with duloxetine. It made me violently ill when I took it. I didn't try it again. However not everyone will react that way.

Hi Mikew,

I have been on it for 6 weeks after gabapentin was a disaster for me. All my reading and discussion with rheumatologist, who prescribed, had said it may take bit of trial and error getting right meds as each individual is different.

I was out on fluoxetine first and then the pain clinic changed it to duloxetine. I wasn't sick it with but as others have said, each med affects different people differently. I had come down to 30mg a day but had to go up to 60mg since Xmas as I had a Fibro flare. Doesn't take away all the pain but helps. You may have to have other meds added in if one doesn't keep things under control. Hope you get some relief but tell your Dr if you feel any side effects so he/she can monitor the effects of drugs as they are prescribed.

I will keep you informed of my pain levels and how well they work for me.
