What type of supplements? We're they Mega doses of B and alpha lipoic acid?

I've been on Lyrica for almost 3 years and it was effective for quite a while. Weight gain is a real side effect of this drug. Have you tried any other medications?

Yes, it was the mega vitamins. I tried Lyrica in February. For 2weeks and gained 8 lbs. in that two weeks, so that is when I switched to the vitamins but am willing to try again as the pain is so much worse.

Hello. I'm taking 75mg of Lyrica for chronic head pain TGN am also on prednisone steroids. I've cut down on complex carbohydrates (bread, rice, pasta etc) lowering my blood glucose and even loosing a couple of lbs. So my experience is positive over the last month.

Yes, I'm taking vit b too. Side effect is less neuropathy pain in feet, less nasty cramping in hands too.

Not sure how it will be when the dose increases, but, so far so good.

Good luck

Hi

I take 300mg twice A day for over 4years and I've not put an ounce of weight on, might be that i'm lucky but if it helps with the pain relief go with it, there are others to try gabapentin but stick with the lyrica becos you have some room for increase in dose and its trial and error as you know, hope all goes well for you

Hello lovecooking,I have been on the maximum dosage of 300mg two times per day of Pregablin 'Lyrica' for over two years and as a medicine it is very good, however the side effect of weight gain could not be more true for me,before I started taking Lyrica I was a steady 15st which at 6'2 tall and being male was about right,I have now hit 19st and I now look like a pachyderm, but don't let this put you off as I have crps and cannot exercise like before so that will have a lot to do with the weight gain, all the best

I use just enough Lyrica (75 mg 2-3 times a day)to lessen the pain and augment that with hydrocodon at night it seems to work most nights. I have had a little weight gain but at acceptable levels.

Hi Lovecooking

I have been on Pregablin now for about 4 years and have put on about half a stone in weight even though I eat less but to be quite honest I have put that down to being much more inactive than I was before. Worth a try if the pain is unbearable as you can always stop if the weight gain is tremendous or it doesn;t help enough with the pain. Good luck with it, let us know your progressx
