It would be a neurosurgeon in the UK, I would think. Ask your GP if they think its useful to refer you to one.
Hello again
Nerve damage can be treated in many ways, your Pain Clinic should help with anything like this, I understand that the success rate can sometimes be a problem. I gather this nerve is a large group, Refer to GP and Pain Clinic if possible they will refer you on and advise on possibilities.

Thanks for the reply, I have another pain clinic appointment this week so hopefully they might have some ideas!
Hi
I have this problem I have nerve damage of the illio lingual nerve. I have had it nearly 4 years and in the end I had to see a doctor privately to get treatment. I have nerve blocks in the nerve and this seems to work for about 6-8weeks of no pain. I have recently had a radio pulse treatment they send pulses into the nerve to try and confuse it. I have to attend the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham to get treatment from my doctor. I have seen this one in America but was luck enough to find to to far from me.
Hi, when I had my nerve block they did the genito-femoral and the illio lingual nerve and like you it did do something (an improvement but didn't get rid of it completely) but it only lasted 3 weeks for me. I am quite close to Birmingham so will bear this in mind, could you please send me a message with the doctors name, thanks.
I would be very interested if you found some one, i have nerve pain in my groin after a hernia opp 15 year ago. I have been to three pain management clinics in the past 10 years i am getting worse.
My last hope is a course of acupuncture next month.
