If Burstis is removed dose it come back? Is it normal for the pain to run down the outer thigh and leave me so sore?
I also have bursitis in my hips and the answer is yes. I have had it go right down to my ankle in the past. I take tramadol which I would say eases the pain and have had numerous injections in my hips, which give temporary relief but nothing really takes it away, however if I stopped my tramadol I would be in severe pain. Hope this helps.
Hi missfairbanks. What is bursitis? I have something which may be similar and had injections in past into joints I think it's similar to sciatica but lasts for long periods and deep tissue massage sometimes helps but still have pain in hips and leg.
A bursa is the sac of synovial fluid between the, in this case, hip bone and the muscles and tendons that move over it. If the bursa is inflamed this causes the pain. Some people recover, some don't. I find ice helpful, and in summer swimming in cold sea or lakes is great, reducing the inflammation. Taking walking back to a very low level- several minutes, and increasing it slowly, can also cure it. If painful at night, lidocaine anaesthetic plasters work well. They are prescription only. Steroid injections are a common treatment but they don't preclude doing all the other stuff as well. Good luck, bursitis is so painful, I have it too, from over walking HaHa. frame1 I think deep tissue massage would aggravate bursitis so you probably have something else. Any nerve damage to lower back? Have you had a nerve conduction study to your lumbar sacral spine? Nerves from here feed the legs and feet.
Hi missfairbanks I also have been told by doctors that I have hip bursitis in my right hip , have had for 2 months its just appeared out of know where , I am also a walker and was told it is a common thing that joggers and walkers suffer with, the pain goes deep into and down the back of my thigh and lower leg, more recently it has been reaching my foot too, the pain is similar to sciatica but its not if that's makes sense and constantly there no matter what im doing , at the moment I am on 30mg/500mg Codamol, it even wakes me at night . also when I walk i can hear my joint knocking as i walk . tomorrow i am seeing the physio which im hoping will help. i do wish you luck with your symptoms and hope you find a good pain med to manage them. oh how nice it would to be pain free again , all the best .
