Hi Vivikin

Lidocaine does not come in tablet form. You can get it in patches called Versatis, which is for sore backs

Hi Vivikin,

Thanks for your reply. Can you describe the IV procedure with the Lignocaine , eg are you in hospital i presume and how long does the infusion take. Are you monitred with an ECG whilst having the drip?. Have heard of people having this but don,t know much about it

Hi I have just seen my pain consultant and I have discussed Lidocaine infusions with him and he has agreed to let me try it, although when i discussed the dosage with hime he uses 2mg per kg weight which is probably why he has not so far had much sucess with it . As the correct dosage I have found is 4mg per kg weight so thats double, so ask your consultant when you go in what dosage he's giving you and even take the lidocaine infusion protacoles with you as evidence. Good luck with this, i am not aware of a tab form but their i believe is a liquid you may be given or patch. all the best :)

Hi Moggiemay and dogbreeder

I have already had the Lidocaine infusion which was carried out as a day case in the recovery bit outside theatre in hospital it took two hours and i was on an a ECG and blood pressure and pulse which was monitored for the whole time by a nurse sat by my bed, I came home about two hours later and had the best four days in the last three years of no pain at all, the pain then came back but I assume at this point that as it was a trial that was to be expected. I see the pain man on the 17th to discuss taking the drug orally, the only thing is that I believe that the drug is off licence and therefore is going to cost £150 per month ouch!!!! but will let you know that for sure when I have seen him. best of luck x
