I have just had a phone call from the Macmillan nurse who had promised to let me know the histology result following my hysterectomy and the removal of the tumour which had been attached to my fallopian tube, omentum, appendix and bowel. It was benign. Yes, benign. I can hardly believe it. I don`t think I have ever cried tears of happiness before.
Apparently there were a few cells attached to my appendix which they coud not identify, and as a precautionary measure I am going to have a colonoscopy in a few weeks. However, as I have not experienced any symptoms related to bowel cancer I am going to be optimistic.
I am just so relieved the tumour was benign I could shout it from the roof tops, and if I was not still feeling a tad uncomfortable from the hysterectomy I would dance round the room.

How wonderful, Anthea, I am so pleased for you and your family and friends. You will have to plan some sort of celebration for them all. I am sure the other bits you're waiting for the results from, will be fine. All you have to do now is get on with recovering from your hysterectomy and then think 'what next?' You will live life with extra relish from now on.
Well done to you and your medical team
Love Wendy xx
The best possible news, Anthea.
A bit soon for dancing, perhaps, but a nice glass of champagne wouldn't go amiss!

That's great news, you must be over the moon. Thank you for letting us all know.
I had a rapid analysis done on the larger ovarian mass that I had whilst I was still under the anathestic, that came back benign. I get the rest of the histology results this Friday.
Thank you everyone. I will most certainly keep visiting this site. You are all so wonderful and you gave me so much hope and reassurance when I was feeling scared and lonely.
My fingers are firmly crossed for you Karen. I hope your news continues along good lines.
Much love to you all.

This is wonderful news , couldn't be happier for you.
You have been very lucky in terms of what was found , but you still have had a big trauma , so take things very easy for the next few weeks and months.
Great news! take care while recovering from your op- my notes to recovery said you were not suppose to hoover for six months ( or that is what I told my husband!).
