Hi Vicsmail,

Hi Vicsmail

I never actually saw your profile. I wrote that about swimming because the expression - swim and don't sink, always comes to my mind when dealing with cancer and everything that comes with it. It seems that it was a coincidence. :)

Reading all you've been through just rings home a little. Why is it that doctors are sometimes so incompetent? I also had a swollen belly and went to my GP 6 or 7 times and you know what? I was told the same as you, 'eat more fibre' , 'buy a juicer', 'you must be constipated', etc. I really wish doctors examined their patients like they used to do in years gone by - the old fashioned way, by touch. Now it's all scans and X-rays when sometimes a feel of a person will say more than any machine.

I'm really glad you're getting back to the things you've loved. It's a long road but you will get there.

Stay strong.

Thank you Gwyn and Sophia. You are so warm and welcoming. It is good to be back to doing the things you love to do. I think the dancing is a little way off yet though. I did ballet and jazz and my legs don't yet feel up to the leaping around. avastin is making my joints achy. However, swimming and Pilates do make me feel great and fulfil my need to stretch.
