My husband does and he was told (after having a lot of tests) that there is nothing to worry about.... but I know that doesn't answer your question..(him being the wrong gender) but sometimes his burping is rapid and last for quite some time.

Love and best wishes x G x

Thank you for your reply i always was a bit windy but it seems to be worse since i have been diagnosed possibly it is an anxiety thing! Love Pam x

I did just before I was diagnosed, and occasionally since then. I have found it has reduced to normal since treatment, so I assumed it could be a side effect of the bloating. My Father in Law suffers from indigestion (and so burps) and is an extremely fit 72 years with no health problems, so I've never worried about it. It could be something to check with your specialist nurse or oncologist when you next see them if you are worried

Sorry I can't be more help

Chris

Thank you for your reply i think it must be an anxiety thing as i spend a lot of time on my own and spend far too much time worrying about different symptoms which is stupid as i am quite a postive person normally. Love Pam x

Dear Pam

I'm not surprised you're worrying and being conscious of lots of different symptoms. Chemotherapy and surgery does seem to afflict us with a collection of little aches and pains and it's difficult to know what's what. I really do hope you have a regular visit to your GP to talk about how you feel generally and any worries you may have.

You are still a positive person but just need a bit of TLC at the moment. I hope you feel able to get out and about soon as it does lift the spirits - but difficult nonetheless to get started on this with so much going on at the moment.

Spring is definitely round the corner with the days lengthening and the first cherry blossom buds appearing. I for one always feel better looking forward to that.

Dear Pam, I'm so sorry you've had to go through this. I wondered when the funeral would be and knew it would be a really tough time for you.

I hope it's at least had the effect of drawing attention to the fact that you do need people to call and take you out or just come round and chat. I'm so pleased that the outing did lift our spirits and hopefully help you think about other outings and get-togethers.

You're nearly half way through your chemo! How are you feeling? Are you managing to escape the worst of the side-effects? I felt much more positive after I'd got three under my belt and by the time of the sixth I couldn't wait to finish them.

Do take care and let us know what we can do to help.

Thank you Annie for your reply, you are right i have been out twice since Sunday no stopping me now,and i am out again tomorrow, as for the chemo i have been really lucky, side effects last for about 4 days, the 2 days after chemo i am buzzing then after that i go slowly downhill with the big tiredness then i start to pick up again, no sickness touch wood but the numb fingers and toes otherwise i think i have been pretty lucky.I know what you mean about having 3 under your belt its half way there but strangely enough you look forward to the chemo just to invade the little blighters. Take care. Pam xx

Yes I have this problem and have been told it is due to the extent of surgery as I

also had a very large cyst which was blocking my stomach. I take Aloe Vera juice

for digestion from Holland and Barrett and find its very good. My Onc says it will

settle down when everything has healed properly. Its been a year since my op so

don't know how much longer I will be burping !!!! haha. Can't believe it takes this

long for everything to settle down.....but guess the hospital know best.

Happy burping xxxx

Thank you for your reply i will certainly give Aloe Vera juice a go as it can be quite embarrassing the burps come on before you can stop then could be worse though could be windy the other end! Love Pam x

Er yes, I get that on occassions, it's very embarrassing, but so far I've managed not to do it in public, or at least be outside!
