Marker down. Hoorah!

Hi all and sending you my love. xx

After four rounds of weekly taxol, to treat a 2nd recoccurence, my marker is down to 38. It is such a relief to know its working. I dont know till tomorrow how many more my Oncologist will give me. Apart from hair loss, heartburn and watery eyes, I have been lucky enough so far to escape the funny fingers and toes. My Hair loss was awful, and it was very painful/tender. I was actually pleased when it had all come out!

I am sure I have read the lower the marker goes the better it is? The lowest I got to before was 28. So with a few more up my sleeve I hope and pray for a really low count.

You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Coco,

Great your marker is down so good to hear some good news. Hope you remain well. Re the head mine was sore when my hair was falling out and I ended up slapping on Sudocream ( which is for nappy rash) I put it on at night and just washed it off in the morning, the relief was so good. Love and Hugs Babs x x

Hi Coco

That's great news, I hope mine does as well. I'm getting ready to start my 2nd round, scan and drain tomorrow.

My oncologist told me that anything below 35 is classed as normal....you can guess the comments from my friends when I told them I was normal at the end of round one!!!! I'm waiting to get the dates to start again, then I suppose I shall arrange the haircut, last time it dropped out in clumps, talk about hairy hands when I washed it! It didn't get sore, but boy did my head itch! I used a body brush on my head...ah the relief!

Lots of love, and long may it continue

Hi Coco,

Great to hear your good news. My consultant says that a CA125 between 0 and 35 is classed as normal. I wanted mine to be about 7 or 8 as I'd heard that was the optimum level but he assures me that everyone is different and that as long as the figure is 35 or below there's nothing to worry about. My last four tests have given a reading in the 17 to 20 range and he says this is probably my "normal" level. Have you tried baby shampoo? It might help with the itching.
