Good luck, Suzanne!
even after 3 yrs of clear checks, I find myself aware of every tiny ache or feeling as soon as the next check appointment arrives!!
Hoping this is the first of continuing clear checks for you!
By the way - I have my ca125 taken at the GP a week before the hospital appt. In that way, I get that result in advance and this has (so far) helped me to stop worrying.
Hi Isadora, My local cancer clinic give me the blood sample form and pocket as I leave each time so I can organise the sample to be taken a week before the following visit. I've only been once to the GP nurse to have a blood sample taken. I prefer the phlebotomist at the clinic as they're so experienced and I can't feel a thing. You can call me a coward if you like! lol
I think you are very fortunate to get it done at the hospital my oncologist refuses to do mine, it is not part of his monitoring, he only feels around my tummy.. even though my recurrance was in the back near my spine...when I have it done by my GP he says he is not going to take any notice of it... but it is an accurate test for me.. I went for my three month check last week and went in to see him he was running over an hour late... I was there seven minutes and in that time he told me about his holiday last week and his holiday he was going on the next week (he's on holiday now) I think he catches up on time when I see him.. I know I act and look well...But!!! love x G x
Hi Suzanne
Hope your checkup has the same result mine had - all clear! I'm also going to get the CA125 done in advance next time round.
Good luck for today , it's really good to keep busy before these things , it will be 3.20 before you know it.
I've had abdominal pain for 2 and a half years, which I can and do live with, it hasn't been anything sinister so fingers crossed you will be the same. Also the first check up is the hardest, after that you really do get used to them and get less anxious as time goes by.
Make sure you take something to do in case you have to wait a long time. I always have to wait for at least an hour and often forget so I'm sitting there stressing about what will happen once I'm in there.
I have all my fingers and toes crossed here for you. Our nearly all black 18 year old puddy cat is also under orders to keep his little fingers crossed.
I hope everything went well yesterday... and that you didn't have to wait too long at the hospital.. an update would be appreciated.. Love and best wishes x G x
Hi Annie yes im ok at the moment thank you... I have an appointment tomorrow to see a consultant that missed my cancer back in 2006.. im a little nervous as i dont just want to be fobbed off.. xxxx
