I know ladies have discussed self-injecting with a syringe containing Nivestim and Filgastrim to boost white cell count. I believe the timing is crucial as it should not be taken immediately before, during or after chemo.
My blood results were marginal the second time and for the final four I was given an injection of a drug called Granocyl once a day for four days, a week before each one. They cost 160 euros each (per injection, not per course) - but they worked. I don't know if this is available in the UK, though, nor what the drug's called there I'm afraid..
