Hi Everyone I want to travel abroad for a single trip of just less than a week in July Has anyone travelled with a PICC line still in place and has anyone managed to get travel insurance when still in treatment? Many thanks in advance for any advice/experience

PICC line and travel abroad

Hi Marie, I got travel insurance while on chemo but didn't have a PICC line. I was covered with my bank, Nationwide for free worldwide travel but not for anything relating to my illness. I was happy with that. For instance if I broke a leg or lost my luggage, I was covered. I was on weekly chemo.
Good luck with the insurance and have a great time. xx
Hi Marie, I have travelled a few times abroad. I have a picc line. I never had any problems at all, I just tell them when I go through the scanner that i am a cancer patient and have a picc line. They are always fine about it, once I had to show it but thats all.
Have a great time.

Dear Mariej2021
Thank you for your post. You've already received useful advice from our members, I just wanted to let you know we have information on travel insurance on our website here: ovacome.org.uk/travelling-a...
You can download the booklet or we can send you a paper copy if you prefer. There is a list of companies at the end which or members have found helpful.
We also have webinar with Fiona Macrae, the founder of InsuranceWith, which you can watch here: youtube.com/watch?v=vmP4FR1...
I hope this is helpful.
Best wishes
Anna
