hello everyone I do read a lot of things, I haven’t had operation, had 6 chemos could not remove all the cancer to much in peritoneal area, had second option , with Christina fotoloup, she said if I get a flair up to go back to her (she said I will) and she will look to operate, but keep on tablets they are a very good drug. The desease is staple at the moment and c125 in range. I have really bad constipation and heart burn cramp's. When I ask oncologist if I should go and see her again they just say I wasn’t in the room when she said it ? Obviously I ask all the time is this the cancer causing the problem or the the drugs. I am very confused I would really like to know what is flair up. Sorry to go on but I know she is the best in the country and I feel she could help I don’t want to rock the boat but I just want a chance at the operation I am at Barts for chemo

Sorry to hear you are feeling so confused. I would definitely give Ovacome a call and one of your nurses to try and clear up your confusion, as Motiva advised. If you look on the Mayo clinic website (better than NHS) you will find the side effects of the drug/s you are on and the symptoms of heartburn and cramps may come up. I think Christina meant by Flare Up (which simply means increased signs of ovarian cancer e.g. steady increase in CA125 or ascites or some such thing) and if you talk to Ovacome or a nurse they may well be able to put your mind at rest, so do make the call. Good luck, Emma xx And ask them what you can take for your heartburn and cramps.
I agree with Tricksite. Hopefully you are having regular blood tests & scans. Constipation is definitely a side effect of the drugs & probably the cramps too. I gave up on laxatives & now drink prune juice daily. Works well for me. Good luck xx
